I am a fine art photographer and writer based in Washington, DC.
In many ways, my journey as a photographer started with a cliché. In the aftermath of a serious illness, my world suddenly looked very different. Simple things and small pleasures were what mattered most -- the curve of a baby's cheek, the smell of fresh cut grass, a window lit by early light.
Today, my biggest reward as a photographer comes when someone says my images help them see this kind of beauty in their daily lives. From sunbeams on a staircase to reflections in a roadside puddle, even the ordinary can be extraordinary, given the right perspective.
